Betraying One’s Country

November 21. 2008

Former FBI director Robert Hanssen

In 2001, former FBI director Robert Hanssen was arrested for betraying his country by selling U.S. secrets to Russia for $1.4 million dollars. It is considered the worst government breach in U.S. history. A film was made about it entitled "Breach" and it stunk.

A few months ago, a former FBI agent that went on to work for the CIA, was caught illegally accessing confidential information and passing it on to other parties. She has since been jailed.

But what if things have gotten worse, where now instead of selling secrets to Russia, someone at the FBI is passing information to a terrorist group such as Al Qaeda.

Considering the perilous times we live in and the challenges facing America, that’s just about as bad as it gets. In light of the aforementioned, does the FBI truly know who is working for them.
