Biden: Everyone Guessed Wrong Regarding Stimulus

June 15. 2009

Vice President Joe Biden

Vice President Joe Biden stated "everyone guessed wrong" regarding the impact of the stimulus bill and it failing, stating the, "Economy was worse off than anyone thought."

Respectfully and humbly, by God's grace, I didn't guess incorrectly. For quite some time I have been warning in writing via this Column against massive U.S. government spending. I stated some companies should receive assistance, like AIG, due to their tentacles being in so many companies around the world and the massive financial fall out it would create if they failed, damaging millions of everyday citizens.

However, I have adamantly stated from day one, the spending should be kept to a minimum and supplemented with sweeping cost cuts. I have also maintained in my Column, one cannot spend one's way out of debt. That's just a fact of life.

President Barack Obama

I began sounding the alarm in 2006 that the U.S. economy was headed for disaster. No doubt some viewed it as being unpatriotic, but just think, had the government listened and heeded the warnings they read according to site statistics, many people would have been spared this magnitude of hardship and financial suffering that extends into other areas of life, when one cannot pay one's bills.

Just about every branch and office of the U.S. government have been reading the site for years according to site statistics and they failed to heed the warnings, believing the nation to be invincible, when no country in the world enjoys the mythical status of being financially indestructible.

Caring for a nation of many is a very big responsibility that requires thought, a visionary outlook and proper planning. Haughty pride, injustice, corrupt motive and warped thinking should not enter the picture (see G.W. Bush). Neither should unruly spending, such as the kind that began with the Bush Administration (wars). Such spending cannot be a staple of government life, if a nation is to financially flourish.

President Obama needs to think long and hard about the decisions that lay before him, as increased spending will increase financial disaster. It's not too late to reduce spending. But you're about to turn that corner where it will be.

Backs away from the estimate that the funds could create or save 3.5 million jobs, instead promises 600,000 by the end of the summer.
