Chris Brown And Rihanna Record Label Ploy

April 16. 2009

Chris Brown

Sony Music singer Chris Brown and Rihanna’s record label ploy went a bit further than the latter singer intended it to, via negative public backlash, then hurt feelings, stemming from his assault case for beating her.

First they reunited in Miami, as Rihanna still has feelings for Chris Brown and wanted to appease his supporters, who have turned on her, vowing boycotts. He also needed her support in a bid to soften the general public’s view of him as a woman beater.

Then, Def Jam panicked when the public began turning on their investment, Rihanna, for staying with and supporting a man that beat her. Their lawyers even openly colluded at hearings, which raised eyebrows.

Brown, still randy and looking to save face, started dating Natalie Mejia as apart of a PR ploy, which included her speaking glowingly about him to Radar, referring to the woman beater as “a gentleman.”

Both labels are at wits end with this terrible situation, lamenting the fact they are losing money and being drawn into a media frenzy they did not wish for.

Def Jam is trying to get Rihanna back to work, via a planned concert in Dubai. One thing is for certain in this case, their careers will never be the same after that fight on Grammy day.
