The new CD by Sony Music singer, Ciara, titled “Fantasy Ride” has flopped. Ciara is the girlfriend of rapper 50 Cent.

The first week sales for the one time chart-topping Atlanta singer are hovering in the 70,000 copies sold range. The flop has come as a shock to many in music. Can’t say I was surprised, though. Sony has been flop city, with artists like Bow Wow selling 30,000 copies in their debut weeks.

They are terribly in the red, with massive sales decline, yet through stock manipulation, similar to what Warner Bros did when they began plummeting, pulled a fast one, elevating their stock price.

If a company is hemorrhaging money, with worse projected sales to come, its only source of so-called profits is firing people, its stock does not go up…unless something crooked is going on.

Ciara's "Fantasy Ride" (LaFace) will sell over 70,000 copies in its first week of release.

May 07, 2009 04:44 AM ET - Industry prognosticators suggest both Michele's "Epiphany" (Def Jam) and Ciara's "Fantasy Ride" (LaFace) will sell over 70,000 copies in their first week of release. With the Mother's Day holiday on Sunday (May 10), both could see a bump in sales over the weekend due to mom-inspired gift-shopping. Additionally, Ciara is slated to perform on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" on May 9.

Ciara's last release, 2006's "The Evolution," started at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 338,000 in the thick of the Christmas shopping season, while Michele's freshman effort "I Am" debuted and peaked at No. 29 with 27,000 in 2007...
