The dad of America's most famous mother of octuplets, Nadya Suleman, confirmed what I stated about her two weeks ago -  she should undergo psychiatric evaluation, as she is mentally unstable.

Nadya's visibly distressed dad, Ed Doud, made these claims to talk show host Oprah Winfrey this week, during a telecast. He was clearly troubled by his daughter's conduct.

Sadly, she now has something else in common with actress Angelina Jolie - she has a dad worried about her mental instability, who voiced those opinions publicly.

In other news, the hospital caring for Suleman's octuplets does not want to release them to her. They are concerned about her mental state and question whether she can care for them.

Nadya Suleman's dad: 'I question her mental situation'

Ed Doud, father of Octo-Mom Nadya Suleman, tells Oprah Winfrey -- in an interview taped yesterday and slated to air Tuesday -- that the actions of his daughter and her doctor were "absolutely irresponsible."

But, he says, "You know what? She needs help. I say to everybody now -- people, we do need help," Doud said. "Do not punish my daughter for what she had done and do not punish the babies, because they were given by God."

Property records show Suleman's mother, Angela, owns the California home they're all living in and is $23,225 behind in her mortgage payments. The house could be sold at auction beginning May 5. When Oprah asked Doud if he thinks his daughter is mentally stable, he replied, "Now I'm no psychiatrist, but I question her mental situation.
