DJ And Drummer Sustain Severe Burns In Accident

September 23. 2008

Last week, Kabbalah cult member DJ AM (to search press "ctrl F" then enter his name and press next ) real name Adam Goldstein and Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker (click here and here), were involved in a horrific plane crash, that killed four people. The two reportedly survived by sliding down the plane's wing that was on fire.

DJ AM suffered second and third degree burns to his head and arms, while Barker sustained second and third degree burns to his chest and lower body. In the above posted video, you can hear one of the two crying in pain at the crash site, while demanding an ambulance that was already on the way, arriving seconds later.

The other passengers on the plane, a reality TV show star, Chris Baker and Barker's bodyguard, died of blunt force trauma to the head. They may not have been strapped into their seats and sustained the fatal injuries when the plane ran off the runway, hitting a fence and pole at 92 MPH. The pilot and co-pilot died of fume and smoke inhalation. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, but a blown tire is being blamed.

While DJ AM and Travis Barker's doctor stated they will make a full recovery in a year, the look on ex-wife Shanna Moakler's face says it all. The degree to which they were burned is gruesome and life altering.

Second and third degree burns are very serious, as it strips away the skin and often some of the flesh as well. Some burns in that category go to the bone.

Both men require skin grafts, which is a procedure that removes skin from an undamaged area of the body (often the thighs) via a sharp tool and places the extracted skin over the burned area. Some skin grafts are temporarily done with animal skin as well (skin of a pig).
