George W. Bush Still Talking Smack

May 30. 2009

George W. Bush and girlfriend Condoleezza Rice

During a shameful speech, former President George W. Bush defiantly bragged that he does not regret torturing terror suspects, some of whom were innocent, lying that it provided important information.

Keep it up. You're basically admitting to war crimes and being a genocidal, deceitful maniac. You've destroyed the institution known as the U.S. Presidency, opening it up to unprecedented scrutiny, ridicule and contempt all over the world. You belong in the Hague.

Not to mention, you are a first rate hypocrite. You condemned villainous dictator Saddam Hussein for torturing people and you were quietly doing the very same thing in violation of the Geneva Conventions.

Why don't you go play golf or something. Better yet, go spend sometime with your wife instead of your girlfriend

Unrepentant: George Bush said he had acted in the 'fog of war' after September 11

Last updated at 12:50 AM on 30th May 2009 - George W. Bush has defended the use of torture on terror suspects in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.

The former U.S. president broke his silence over the controversial issue to insist that interrogation methods such as waterboarding and sleep deprivation helped save lives by gaining valuable intelligence.

...Last month, newly-released 'torture' memos revealed how waterboarding was used 266 times on two key Al Qaeda suspects.

The U.S. Justice Department said that CIA interrogators used the technique 183 times on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-proclaimed planner of the September 11 attacks and 83 times on another Al Qaeda prisoner, Abu Zubaydah.

A nation in trauma

Last updated at 2:29 PM on 30th May 2009 - CNN's woman in Baghdad discovers the real Iraq and sees grim portents for the future. Raed was a business graduate who might have helped Iraq move forward into its post-Saddam, post-coalition future.

Instead the 25-year-old was accused of being a U.S. agent by a local militia who cut off his hands, feet and head.

His father now hungers only for what he sees as justice - the execution of those who killed him...
