Instead of 3-5 years in prison, he now faces probation to a year in prison, plus fines. The charge was reduced from a felony to misdemeanor.

While he did bring back Guns N Roses’ name in the press, when his deeds were splashed across mainstream press outlets, the album didn’t live up to the long wait or the hype.

I’m sure some are wondering if Cogill leaking the album cut into the band’s sales, but five things:

1.) Axl most likely would not have released it this year had it not been leaked in this manner, but it probably did hurt sales.
2.) It pales in comparison to their older hits.
3. Screening it on MySpace probably didn’t help, because you got the opportunity to hear that, well, it pales in comparison to their older hits.
4.) Axl didn’t promote it.
5.) Who are those other dudes in the band. Did I miss something? (smirk)
