U.S. President Barack Obama has selected the Thomson Correctional Center as the designated prison for Gitmo detainees. The Judiciary Report is not sold on the idea of it, preferring Alcatraz, as it is remote, spacious and holds the appropriate image that illustrates one means business. It is a bit concerning that Thomson is not in a remote location, but the facility has other useful features, such as modern surveillance equipment and a courthouse.
