Jamie Lynn Spears Daughter Maddie Aldridge Out Of Coma And Talking After Near Fatal Drowning

February 21. 2017

Maddie Aldridge

This is a follow up to the articles "Jamie Lynn Spears 8-Year-Old Daughter Maddie Aldridge In Critical Condition After Terrible ATV Bike Accident (Britney Spears Niece)" on February 6, 2017 and "More Information Released On The Serious ATV Accident Of Jamie Lynn Spears 8-Year-Old Daughter Maddie Aldridge" on  February 7, 2017.

I'm happy to report, 12 hours after the  February 7, 2017 article "More Information Released On The Serious ATV Accident Of Jamie Lynn Spears 8-Year-Old Daughter Maddie Aldridge" was published to the site, discussing the "Mammalian Diving Reflex" and that can preserve life in cold water as it relates to drowning victims, People magazine announced that evening that Aldridge came out of her coma after three days of unconsciousness and began speaking. That is wonderful. Doctors usually bring drowning victims who survived submersion out of a coma on the third day.

Aldridge was discharged from the hospital on February 10, 2017 and flown home via helicopter. This was an indicator that the patient was still in a delicate, weakened state due to injury or illness. Aldridge is also still being given oxygen, indicating lung trouble and respiratory difficulties. However, at least she is alive.

On Valentine's Day she was able to briefly visit her classmates at school. However, People magazine reports, "Maddie isn't quite ready to return to school, but her doctors did clear her to bring in her Valentine's Day treats to her class." The next step will be doctors monitoring Aldridge for neurological damage, as she was underwater for minutes and when paramedics pulled her from the pond, she was unconscious and had no pulse. There are conflicting reports regarding how long Aldridge was submerged under water.

As written on the site in the article "More Information Released On The Serious ATV Accident Of Jamie Lynn Spears 8-Year-Old Daughter Maddie Aldridge" on February 7, 2017, the  "Mammalian Diving Reflex" assists in survival if the drowning victim is accidentally submerged in cold water. It was 64 degrees in Louisiana when Aldridge became trapped in the pond. It's not the ideal temperature (mid-50s). However, water is usually colder than the air. Therefore, the water temperature in the pond could have very well been in the 50s.

Contrast that with the drowning death of Bobby Kristina Brown, who was deliberately submerged in very hot water by domestic violence abuser, Nick Gordon and it accelerated brain death due to the high temperature and 10 minutes of submersion ("Bobbi Kristina Brown On Life Support Due To Overdose Confirming Previous Site Statements From 2012" and "Whitney Houston's Daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown Moved To Hospice As Her Condition Continues To Deteriorate And Conservator Files Lawsuit Against Nick Gordon For Stealing Money And Beating Her Up Confirming Previous Site Claims").

If you think about it, there is logic to colder temperatures being beneficial in crisis. Medical professionals preserve organs on ice. During surgery and medical emergencies, cooling techniques are used to protect the body from damage. There is also a theory that heart attack victims have a greater chance of survival without significant brain damage if you place a cold compress on their forehead in a bid at activating the "Mammalian Diving Reflex."

Jamie Lynn Spears’ Daughter Maddie Returns to School for Valentine’s Day After Being Hospitalized — See the Sweet Pic

February 14, 2017 @ 9:26 PM - Sweeter than candy! Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter, Maddie Aldridge, returned to school for Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, February 14, to hand out candy to her classmates after being hospitalized last week.

"Maddie isn't quite ready to return to school, but her doctors did clear her to bring in her Valentine's Day treats to her class today," Jamie Lynn, 25, wrote alongside an adorable photo of Maddie smiling while holding up candies. “It made her so happy to see her friends, and be able to give them such cute treats. It was a great moment for us after everything that has happened. We are so thankful to celebrate Valentine's Day with the ones we love, and we don't take a second of it for granted. Happy Valentine's Day.”...

On Tuesday, February 7, the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans told Us in a statement via a Spears family rep that Maddie was awake and thankfully didn’t suffer “any neurological consequences from the accident.” She was then released from the hospital on Friday, February 10.

“So grateful that Maddie was able to go home today… it’s truly a miracle,” Maddie’s aunt, Britney Spears, wrote in an Instagram post on Friday. “Our prayers were heard, and they were answered! Thank you so much for all of your love and support this week. My family appreciates it more than you will ever know.”
