Janet Napolitano Regrets Veteran Comments

U.S. veterans just can’t catch a break. First the V.A. negligently exposes them to disease in hospitals with falling standards and now president Barack Obama’s new Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, slams them in a report as “extremists” that pose a danger to the country via radicalization. Well, at least they fought for their country, Ms. Napolitano. Obama has distanced himself from her statements.

Many believe the report was an attack on Republicans, as many veterans are conservatives. She has now expressed regret over the report that created a scandal and well she should, as it wasn’t the kindest statement to make.

April 19, 2009 - still struggling to explain her department’s report that veterans could targeted by extremists groups looking for recruits, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said on Sunday that she regretted “in that in the politicization of everything that happens in Washington D.C., some took offense.”…
