Lindsay Lohan’s Mother Responds

“White Oprah” Speaks

August 2. 2007

Actress Lindsay Lohan’s mother, Dina, A/K/A the self-professed "white Oprah," has been publicly responding to the terrible criticism she and her family have received, as a result of her daughter’s reckless driving, DUI arrests, bigoted statements and unprofessional conduct.

While she could not be pleased with the unflattering portrayals of her as a bad mom via critical news coverage, she invited that image. When you do certain things that will happened. For example:

She has been seen out partying in clubs in different cities with her daughter. Both of them were said to be drinking, even when Lindsay was underage.

She has been photographed giddy leaving her daughter’s favorite nightclub with a man, who is not her husband.

Photographed with a then underage Lindsay, who was half nude, in a hotel room, containing Jack Daniels liquor and what is believed to be drugs:

She lied about being a Rockette (“An investigation carried out by The New York Post found no trace of the star's mum during a thorough search of the dance group's records - and it seems the famous mother also made up her claims she appeared in the theatre and television ads” –PR inside).

She used her daughter’s fame, that’s now dwindling, to get TV appearances and her own talk show that has yet to launch.

She’s used her daughter to get into parties to meet celebrities. She even set her sights on notorious bimbo himbo George Clooney, even lying to him about her identity (“She even once lied about her identity to George Clooney. "I don't want them to know I'm her mom," she said. "It's a whole 'nother demographic. People just go dark" - NYP). She said and I quote: "For every woman in America, he's the first choice. He's a gentleman. He's kept this class about him."

She further did an embarrassingly revealing article and photo shoot with Harpers

What kind of moral compass could a mother have posing for a magazine in this manner:

The mom also worked hard to get across another message - that she's a superstar herself - as she gushed about the glamorous life she leads thanks to her troubled daughter's celebrity. “I'm living the American dream, and you can go . . ." she exclaimed after Harper's asked her what she would say to critics of her parenting techniques.

In the interview in the April issue, the 44-year-old Lohan described how she's more like a sister to her fire-haired daughter - going out to clubs with her and even wearing her old Prada jacket and Jimmy Choo boots. "If you can button it and clip it when you're in your 40s, you're going out," she said as she put her hand in the air to solicit a high-five from the Harper's reporter.” – New York Post

The sad fact of the matter is her mother Dina encouraged the destructive drug infested partying, because she got to go along too and mingle with celebrities. But all that partying, alcohol and drug taking was destroying her daughter.

She was in the worst environment possible for someone with her substance abuse leanings (both parents have had trouble in this arena).

Dina Lohan shares some blame in this, as she encouraged her to linger in that drug and alcohol fuelled party scene, facilitating her addictions. She made excuses for it.

Over-Confidence And Conceit

While I think it is great to instill self-confidence in one’s children, Lindsay, 21, believes she is an irreplaceable actress, when no one is, especially when they cause their employers too much trouble and money.

There are thousands of women out there who want to be actresses that would show up on time for any one of Lindsay’s roles that she keeps signing up for, then not showing up for…and guess what, many of them can act.

Lindsay is in no way, shape or form the best actress in the industry. She can act, but is nowhere near the best.

In the film “Mean Girls” Rachel McAdams stole the show – she was the star of that piece. In the film “Freaky Friday,” Jamie Lee Curtis was the main attraction, as she too stole the show. Not to mention, Lohan’s repertoire of films and her range, is limited.

Lindsay Deserves The Most Blame

In spite of all this, at the end of the day, no one is more to blame than Lindsay. She is no child, as she is 21 years old. Therefore, it’s time for her to grow up and take some responsibility.

Being a celebrity doesn’t spell responsibility. With her money dwindling, roles drying up and the public tired of the mischief and irresponsible conduct from Lindsay and her peers like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, her fame could be just a memory in the very near future.

I’ve seen greater entertainers come and go, due to doing the same destructive things, admittedly to a lesser degree, and you know what, the industry went on without them. You’re not irreplaceable to them. None of you are.

Dina Lohan’s Public Arguing Via The Press

After Rob Schneider lampooned Lindsay on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (where she was scheduled to appear that night but cancelled due to her second arrest) by mockingly dressing like her, taking a flask of liquor out of his alcohol monitoring anklet and drinking it on air, Dina angrily wrote:

Dina: "We have a great respect for Jay Leno but we are disappointed in the path he chose to allow a guest to make light of a very serious situation concerning Lindsay.

This is a very personal and private matter and our only concern is to get Lindsay the help that she needs. We will get through this together and it will make our family stronger.

Thank you to Craig Ferguson for not making a mockery of such a serious situation to which teens and young adults are facing across the country!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all families who have had to see a family member through tough times."

Schneider shot back: "When Mrs. Lohan stops partying with her child, then I'll have an ounce of respect for her."

The second incident occurred in a verbal sparring match with Donald Trump:

Trump stated to Lindsay via the press: "Find what you love doing (other than drugs and alcohol), work hard, stay focused, get a new set of parents - then join me on 'Celebrity Apprentice,' which is shooting soon - I'll keep you straight!"

To which Dina wrote: "I've always had a great admiration for your business sense and I've read all your books and learned from them.

Your own brother died of alcoholism and you own Trump Vodka? You say Lindsay needs new parents? Such a rash statement without backing it with fact?

"I am a single mother of four children doing what I can during this difficult time! Do a background check of both parents and you will find the truth! Shame on you... so many families suffer from this, yours included. We need solutions not opinions!"
