Madoff Wants To Keep Stolen Loot

Of All The Nerve

March 3. 2009

Bernard Madoff

Fraudster Bernard Madoff wants to keep $62 million dollars in money stolen from investors he duped, in the nation’s single largest Ponzi scheme and additionally requested to retain his luxury $7 million dollar New York apartment. Of all the nerve.

This man should be in prison and poverty stricken for all the damage he has done to the U.S. economy and thousands of people. Madoff deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.

There are Madoff victims that went from riches to being on food stamps, which is mind boggling. There was one man in his 90’s that lost it all with Madoff and is working at a grocery store as a bag boy. That is unreal.

People don’t save and invest for most of their adult lives for something like that to happen, under a lax and corrupt SEC and FBI.

Then the government wonders why the stock market is plummeting. It’s because of people like Madoff and Stanford and all the other crooks, still wandering around free, being shown favor by the courts, rubbing salt in victims’ wounds. The U.S. government is too soft on crime when it comes to the rich and famous and it has caused massive problems.

It was announced this week that President Barack Obama is giving millions more to the SEC and FBI/DOJ, but what’s the sense when they are so corrupt.

You could give them each a trillion a year, but if you do not root out the corruption, the same thing will happen again and the U.S. economy cannot take another blow like this.

Madoff: NYC Penthouse, $62 Million Are Mine

Disgraced Money Manager Claims Place Where He Lives Under House Arrest Should Not Be Subject To Seizure

Bernie Madoff is accused of fleecing his clients out of billions, but he said Monday he shouldn't be forced into the poorhouse.

His lawyers are arguing that Madoff should be entitled to keep the $7 million apartment he's currently being held in while under house arrest and $62 million, including $45 million in municipal bonds.

Court papers filed on Monday state that Madoff and his lawyer say the Manhattan penthouse and the millions held in accounts of Madoff's wife, Ruth, are not subject to seizure.
