Melanie B Discusses Eddie Murphy Paternity Case On Larry King Show

August 10, 2007

Angel Murphy: thanks for nothing Pluto Nash!

Melanie B A/K/A Scary Spice of the Spice Girls discussed her acrimonious paternity case on the Larry King Show. Her lawyer Gloria Allred accompanied her.

Press conference last week:

She fielded a number of questions, mostly from people asking why the case had taken such a public and bitter turn. Melanie countered that Eddie was the one that put her name out there in a bad light, which is true.

He is in fact the one that did the television interview, where through his unkind statement, questioning if it was even his child she was carrying, made what was private, a public matter. So, in essence she is more than entitled to argue her case publicly as well, just as he did with that interview.

However, it illustrates a common, nonsensical attitude held by some deluded stars. They believe they are the only ones who are entitled to an opinion, publicly or otherwise, and no one else is allowed to speak or write about their views if it is critical of them.

Melanie had a right to defend herself, just like anyone else, famous or not, who was defamed or deliberately placed in a bad light under untruthful circumstances.

It falls under international human rights in the UN and domestic law, that each person has the right to a good name as well as the right to defend said name. Therefore, people are allowed to verbally, literarily or legally fight back, save for violence.

King questioned if Melanie's meeting with Eddie's ex-wife, Nicole, was a high profile ploy to get at Eddie. She denied it. Well, at least someone in Murphy's camp supported her, in the form of his ex-wife.

Considering he denied his child, still refuses to see her months after her birth, paid a private investigator to follow Melanie around even while she was pregnant, says that his conduct is not right.

Much like he did to a transvestite who died under tragic, controversial circumstances, that cops caught him picking up a few years ago in a section of West Hollywood known for bisexual prostitution, with other cops coming forward later on television stating they had stopped him at other times as well. Eddie's credibility is in the loo.

That outfit coupled with that grin is suspect:

Melanie further stated in an essence interview that there are things about Eddie's lifestyle she wasn't prepared to be apart of, as she has children, and spoke of people coming to his house at all hours. Those statements fed rumors about Eddie's sexuality.

Tracey Edmonds' statements didn't help either, as she made her current relationship with Eddie sound like an arranged business deal, and we all know Tracey will do anything to get ahead in Hollywood.

"The Melanie Brown situation had absolutely no impact on my relationship with Eddie." -  Tracey Edmonds, Jet Magazine, 8-13-07

To any decent woman it should have. And it says a lot that you think that.

In closing, Eddie needs to get right, as his actions have been very unmanly, irresponsible and hurtful. No woman could feel good about being treated that way, especially considering there is a child involved.

And once again, Eddie, what about the baby? You've left this ugly trail of press quotes and interviews that she's not going to feel good about when she gets older and you still have not visited her.

You and Melanie's failed relationship aside, what about the child? Your child. You need to do the right thing, as your conduct towards the baby is astonishing. Metaphorically speaking, all those rooms, and not one for his daughter:

Eddie's house
