The New President Of The United States Is...

Barack Obama

November 4. 2008

Barack Obama (Democrat)

After a long, hard fought 2008 U.S. election between he and Republican John McCain, Democrat, Barack Obama is the new president of the United States.

This is a very special day for black people in America, but white people deserve credit as well, because many voted for Obama too (reports state black voter turn out this year is only slightly elevated from 2004).

The fiercely fought race saw record sums of money raised and spent to capture the office of the presidency. History was also made via a black man, for the first time, gaining the nomination of a major party and separately a non-U.S. born American, McCain, who was a P.O.W., clinching the opposing nomination.

John McCain (Republican)

It is my hope that racial tensions will not erupt from the results of the election, as violence is not the answer. The entire nation needs to work together to save America after the horror that became the Bush years.

For the past two days, I prayed not for what I thought was best, but for God’s will over the election via “The Lord’s Prayer” in the Bible, asking for His will to be done. Prayer changes things.

It is my hope the war in Iraq will not be expanded, but come to an end. As I’ve stated on this website in the past “victory” is subjective at this point, as Bush lied to the world, executed the leader of a foreign country, toppled his government and stole their nation’s assets (oil).

George W. Bush (Republican)

If that’s losing a war, it’s scary to think what the definition of winning it would be. What more could the government want in the way of so called “victory” that could justify continuing that heinous war. Thousands of US and ally soldiers have died and over 1 million Iraqi citizens have passed as well. It has to stop.

Bush changed on the American people and what started as a presidency with promise, turned into an administration taking the country hostage to its corrupt will.

Today, quite a few people were voted out of Congress as well, which I think is good under the circumstances, as I have alluded to in articles over the past few months, due to them being the worst performing in history. Here’s hoping the dynamic in Congress has sufficiently changed.

In America, civil rights are gone as well, where you can be spied on to sick degrees most never knew possible. Not to mention, corporate America, with no oversight, wreaked havoc on the nation’s finances, with problems that spilled over into the world.

It is my hope that things will truly change and Obama will make good on his campaign promises regarding ending the war, reining in corporate America and restoring civil rights.

I pray he will remember the Lord, who is the Messiah, in his choices and not dishonor His word.
