The Obama Administration is mad at and frustrated with Drudge Report and similar websites, deeming they are shaping the news that other sites report and add unflattering commentary to, reaching millions. This cycle is functioning like a network of sites, disseminating info that influences national polls.

Drudge, a Miami conservative, has routinely found and been sent, links to very damaging stories, that he has published, which then  filters down through mainstream sites and major blogs. High-ranking Democrats have been quietly implementing ideas on how to neutralize the Drudge effect, especially in light of the upcoming elections, crucial to the Democratic President's plans. They have taken adverse action against him that has not yet been made public.
