Obama Appoints Republican To China

Video: Obama Taps Republican As Ambassador to China The Associated Press

President Barack Obama has appointed Republican and former campaign advisor to senator John McCain, Utah governor, John Huntsman, as ambassador to China.

The president also acknowledged China’s growth in the world and the desire to work in concert with them. In an article published today, it was announced, China is poised to overtake America in the world as the official reserve currency. China was cited as having a “focused government” with a strong economy.

Well, that’s what happens when a crooked former president spends all a nation’s money on a fruitless, deceitful war, using weapons of mass destruction as a ruse to steal oil, that he had to leave behind, anyway (but not before pilfering some of it for Haliburton).

Side Bar: why is former president Dick Cheney on TV more than the Geico lizard, trying to make a case for his administration’s failure, which is a foregone conclusion at this point. It’s over. Let it go. History has kicked your butt and won.

In closing, to stay on subject (what was I writing about again) I hope the Geico lizard gets eaten by the Fancy Feast cat or the Taco Bell dog, so I don’t have to see that little green, bugged eye, talking freak of nature on my TV anymore. Because really, do lizards need insurance and if so, from what? Cats? Dogs? A peeved black blogger swinging a broom?

Obama taps potential rival for China envoy

WASHINGTON (AP) — With a reach across the political divide for Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman as ambassador to China, President Barack Obama may have sidelined for now a potentially formidable Republican moderate and possible White House challenger in 2012.

China's yuan 'set to usurp US dollar' as world's reserve currency

The Chinese yuan is preparing to overtake the US dollar as the world's reserve currency, economist Nouriel Roubini has warned.

Last Updated: 1:50PM BST 15 May 2009 - Professor Roubini, of New York University's Stern business school, believes that while such a major change is some way off, the Chinese government is laying the ground for the yuan's ascendance.

Known as "Dr Doom" for his negative stance, Prof Roubini argues that China is better placed than the US to provide a reserve currency for the 21st century because it has a large current account surplus, focused government and few of the economic worries the US faces.
