Obama Blocks Release Of More Gitmo Photos

President Barack Obama has instructed his legal team to enter a motion in court, to block the release of additional abuse photos of prisoners at U.S. prison Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

Mr. Obama should not submit to the culture of corruption and cover-ups that has so damaged America's name in the world, due to the severe human rights abuses that occurred under the Bush administration.

People already think the worst of the government thanks to former president George W. Bush and his vice president Dick Cheney.

These withholdings are not due to national security, but national and international embarrassment, that an elected leader, Bush, in a democracy, so broke the law across the board, then scurried away like a coward, leaving others to clean up his monumental mess. No human being should be subjected to human rights abuses. It is sick.

Video: US detainee abuse 'unprecedented'

Let's be honest here and cut the rubbish. Over one million people are dead in the Middle East because of the war, with millions more having lost their homes, when they had to flee to save their lives. Millions of people in America are losing their homes and jobs at an unprecedented rate as well. The country is deeper in debt than it's ever been. Many historic U.S. companies have closed their doors due to financial calamity.

Diplomatic bridges have been burned between America and much of the world, because two arrogant, power mad men, let the job get to their malevolent heads and did unconscionable things in the dark that 99% of the globe would be imprisoned for in the day. The institution that is the U.S. presidency took such a terrible hit, due to Bush, the office doesn't mean the same thing it once did in the world.

To breakaway from that unprecedented sweep of criminal activity, a unified government must desist with the cover-ups and criminal activity, lest it subscribes to the former occupants' severe misconduct that wrought widespread damage, financial loss, malice and global suffering.

If the former president and vice president are as regretful as they claim regarding the devastating damage they have brought the nation and the world, why not forfeit your family fortunes, which combined is well over a billion, to the poor of America and Iraq, as a form of financial restitution for the terrible, heinous things you've done.

In reversal, Obama seeks to block abuse photos

By JENNIFER LOVEN – 46 minutes ago - WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama declared Wednesday he would try to block the court-ordered release of photos showing U.S. troops abusing prisoners, abruptly reversing his position out of concern the pictures would "further inflame anti-American opinion" and endanger U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The White House had said last month it would not oppose the release of dozens of photos from military investigations of alleged misconduct. But American commanders in the war zones have expressed deep concern about fresh damage the photos might do, especially as the U.S. tries to wind down the Iraq war and step up operations against the Taliban and al-Qaida in Afghanistan…
