Obama Raised $66 Million Dollars In August

...But Is Not Spending Enough Of It On Strong Ads

September 16. 2008

Barack Obama

Democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama, raised an historic $66,000,000 in campaign funds during the month of August 2008, but is not spending enough of it on hard hitting ads. Only two of roughly a dozen Obama ads brought the point home.

Republican rival, John McCain, has raised less money, but delivered ads with more impact, that helped to change the course of the 2008 presidential race. There's a reason people pay money for advertising, because when done properly, it works.

Obama Raised $66 Million in August

Democrat Barack Obama again shattered the monthly record for presidential fundraising, bringing in $66 million in August, according to figures his campaign released this morning.

Obama started September with $77 million in the bank and is rapidly closing in on raising a half-billion dollars for his presidential bid. He easily outraised Republican John McCain in August, even as McCain raised a personal best of $47 million heading into the party conventions.
