Palin Pulls In Women To GOP Ticket

…And Big Crowds

McCain’s Eye Candy

September 9. 2008

John McCain (Republican)

The addition of Sarah Palin to the John McCain presidential ticket is said to be bringing in bigger crowds and more white female voters to the Republican party.

Sarah Palin getting a leg up on the competition (get the joke)

Obama may want to start inquiring what his running mate Joe Biden looks like in a halter top. Just kidding. I don't agree with cross-dressing.

Sarah Palin (Republican)

To some degree this is likely true, and she probably is garnering votes for McCain, but I find it hard to believe Democratic women are switching parties that easily (well, the ones who aren't disgruntled). It’s probably mostly Republican women and undecided female voters stepping forward.

Poll shows big shift to McCain among white women

Tue Sep 9, 2008 9:20am EDT - WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain has gained huge support among white women since naming Sarah Palin as his running mate and now leads Democrat Barack Obama among those voters, according to a survey published on Tuesday.

The Washington Post/ABC News poll found that much of McCain's surge in the polls since the Republican National Convention is attributable to the shift in support among white women.

McCain Campaign Crowds Grow Exponentially

The 'Palin Factor' Bringing Excitement and Bigger Crowds to McCain Events

At John McCain's rally in the town of Lee's Summit, Mo., there were more people standing outside than were able to fit inside.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain, joined by his wife Cindy McCain and at right is his running mate Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, at a campaign event in Cedarburg, Wisconsin on September 5, 2008.

That kind of crowd just hadn't been seen at McCain's events before last week's Republican convention.

Saturday in Colorado Springs, about 10,000 people waved American flags at McCain's rally in an airport hangar there, and Friday in the town of Cedarburg, Wis., there were more people crowding the main street and the surrounding blocks than the population of the tiny town.

These numbers seemed unfathomable to the campaign just last month.

So what happened? Two words: Sarah Palin.
