Sony Music artist Chris Brown, who got into a vicious physical fight with his girlfriend Rihanna, have backed off a duet they recorded, due to terrible public backlash that they are reunited and pretending nothing happened.

Unoriginal record producer, Polow Da Don, stated last week, the two had recorded a duet together he wrote and produced.

However, when public reaction grew virulent at this news, they retracted and are now lying, stating no such duet existed, in spite of the fact said record producer gave the interview to many credible websites and publications, believing it would serve as positive damage control (see below).

Don’t you just love it when Hollywood acts like the public is stupid, insulting everyone’s intelligence.

Tell the truth. You recorded a duet, in an ill-advised PR move, thinking it would save your damaged careers, not realizing the public would react so terribly to the poorly thought out idea and as a result, you’ve scrapped it.

There is no duet by Rihanna and Chris Brown despite previous reports that the pair had recorded a song together, a label source tells PEOPLE exclusively.

"Contrary to published reports, Chris Brown and Rihanna did not record a duet after the incident," says the source, alluding to Brown's alleged assault of his girlfriend last month…

Posted on 03/11/09 - Rihanna Chart-topping producer Polow Da Don says he's been in the studio with Chris Brown and Rihanna recently and is set to speak with Dr. Phil about the experience !

Confirming the rumored duet with both Brown and Rihanna in the studio, recording an as yet untitled duet, Polow Da Don told the LA Times "I think they are both great musical artists."

"My heart goes out to both Chris Brown and Rihanna regarding what happened in the past. I enjoyed working with both of them." ...

Mar 10, 2009, 06:58 PM - More details are emerging regarding Chris Brown and Rihanna's recent recording sessions, according to TMZ. The celebrity site says that music producer Polow da Don encouraged Brown and Rihanna to record a love duet as soon as possible to capitalize on the young musicians' "heightened emotions." The song was originally written to be performed by just Rihanna, but Polow da Don felt the track would work even better as a duet. The song is reportedly about a couple overcoming challenges, and TMZ's source says that the recording sessions were "very emotional" and that "the feeling in the room was pure love." E! Online first reported on the duet this morning. Both Brown's and Rihanna's management companies had no comment for EW.

Chris Brown and Rihanna record duet: report

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Singers Chris Brown and popstar girlfriend Rihanna, roiled in controversy for the savage beating Brown allegedly inflicted on her last month, have a recorded a duet, a report said.

The pair recently recorded a "sweet and sentimental" track that "expresses the challenges of a love relationship," according to the entertainment magazine People, citing people close to the matter.

Brown, 19, appeared in court March 5 for arraignment on assault charges that came after he allegedly subjected Barbados-born "Umbrella" singer Rihanna to the beating in the early hours of February 8.

The incident shocked the music world and left Rihanna nursing cuts and bruises to her face, forcing her to cancel a scheduled performance at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles later that day.

Brown is charged with felony counts of assault and making criminal threats.

The new duet's producer, Polow Da Don, told the magazine that his "heart goes out to both Chris and Rihanna for what has happened in the past." ...
