President Obama's first pick for the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor, has been confirmed. Her appointment is an historic one, as she is the first Hispanic woman on the High Court. There is such a large, taxpaying, Hispanic population in America, I'm surprised the Supreme Court did not reflect the nation's cultural make-up sooner.

Sotomayor's parents are Puerto Rican immigrants, who moved to the Bronx in New York city. Congrats to her. Hopefully, she will add some integrity to the court, as the current class sorely lacks it, costing America dearly in a number of pivotal decisions that went very awry and in front of the watching nation and world, who were left puzzled and dismayed.

President Obama applauded the confirmation today in a speech.
