Woman Convicted Of Genocide And Rape Is Sentenced To Life In Prison

June 27. 2011

Pauline Nyiramasuhuko

Pauline Nyiramasuhuko, has been sentenced to life in prison, for genocide and rape in her native Rwanda. The former government official, who presided over a division responsible for the care of families, arranged and condoned the deaths and rapes of innocent Rwandans, in conduct that must never be repeated again.

It was reported Nyiramasuhuko, "Ordered men from the Interahamwe militia, thugs from the Hutu tribe who carried out the killings, to rape Tutsi women and girls." That was so cruel and abominable. She needs to ask God for forgiveness.

Human rights abuses are never to be condoned in any nation, whether the atrocities are committed by men or women. Crime is crime. The Judiciary Report is in agreement with the African court's decision in this case.
