Judge Rules Criminal Case Against Harvey Weinstein Can Proceed Where He Is Potentially Facing The Rest Of His Life In Prison

November 29. 2019

Harvey Weinstein

In a last ditch attempt at avoiding all culpability for his crimes, disgraced Hollywood rapist, Harvey Weinstein, tried to get criminal charges against him for raping and sexually abusing women, thrown out of court. It is the standard in Hollywood, to bribe judges to get civil cases tossed (judges are usually bribed with corporate stock).

Weinstein was not able to worm his way out of the case, as it has garnered a significant amount of public attention, due to the fact over 90 famous and non-famous women came forward speaking of his sex crimes against them. As such, the judge refused to dismiss the criminal charges against the movie producer. This means Weinstein, if convicted, would spend the rest of his life in prison, for sick sex crimes against women. It would be just and most appropriate. Weinstein's trial is set to begin on January 6, 2020.

His lawyers recently objected to two of the counts - predatory sexual assault, which carries a maximum life sentence - but they were upheld on Wednesday.

Other rulings made public also went against the movie mogul, with Judge James Burke rejecting Weinstein's claim that emails obtained from his movie studio are private. Mr Burke also denied Weinstein access to the personnel file of a police detective whose alleged witness coaching led prosecutors to drop a charge last year...
