'Murphy Brown' Reboot Cancelled After Half A Season

This is a follow up to the September 27, 2018 article “'Murphy Brown' Reboot Takes Potshots At President Donald Trump And His Daughter Ivanka” where I stated the show was not a good reboot. The next day the ratings were poor (‘Murphy Brown’ Reboot Draws Poor Ratings For CBS). They made a number of missteps with the reboot that I spotted immediately. Hence the negative review.

Today the CBS television network announced the “Murphy Brown” reboot will end on December 13, 2018, which is half a season. The network ordered 13 episodes on a trial run, but several of them have aired and the reboot has failed to catch on, suffering low ratings. In short, the reboot of “Murphy Brown” was a flop.

It's a shame, as I liked elements of the original I saw this year via reruns (except the occasional insults regarding religion). The original was quite successful and ran for 10-seasons. I would not have done the reboot in the manner they did though. That's why the minute I saw it I stated it would flop.
