Beyonce Lost $20,000,000 Due To 'Black is King' Flopping

August 7. 2020

Beyonce

As stated on the site yesterday morning, Beyonce's copyright infringing "Black is King" documentary flopped (Beyonce's Rip Off Documentary 'Black Is King' Flops Costing Disney Millions Of Dollars In Losses). It was streamed on Disney Plus in an exclusive deal, but received piss poor ratings. It was only viewed by 2.2% of subscribers. That is a flop and one that cost Disney millions in production, market and advertising fees.

The flop not only cost Disney money. It cost Beyonce money as well. The manner in which the Disney deal was structured, with tie-ins and add-ons based on performance means Beyonce lost a base $20,000,000 due to "Black is King" flopping (some streaming deals reach nine figures when projects are very successful and viewed many times by many people). She stole a billion dollar copyright ("Black Panther") and devalued it.
