The British Government Stockpiling Food And Medicine In The Fallout Of Pending Brexit Finalization

This week, reports in the United Kingdom's mainstream press indicate, the British government is stockpiling food and medicine in anticipation of problems associated with Brexit, which is Britain's departure from the European Union. British Prime Minister, Theresa May, recently made the decision.

Since last year I have been warning about potential food shortages in Britain, due to Brexit, then it began happening in February and again in June (KFC Chicken Shortage In Britain Leads To Temporary Closure Of 500 Restaurants Indicating An Agricultural Problem (As Stated Previously On The Site)  and Britain Facing Another Food Shortage As Predicted On The Site Last Year (CO2)).

The stockpiling of medicine, will only work for a short time. Many medicines have a 6-month to 1-year time period before they lose their efficacy. Last year I stated the British government needs to grow more of its own food. They should have the same approach to manufacturing medicine as well. The British government has relaxed in a number of areas of commerce, opting to hinge much of the economy on the banking and real estate sectors, which are both now experiencing trouble due to Brexit.

The British real estate market was hot for years. I remember I saw this cute little British house in London a few years ago. I decided to look up the price. It was £52,000,000. But I digress. The value of British houses and flats have declined this year due to Brexit, which is not good for homeowners who currently wish to sell (but made millionaires out of many who sold prior to the Brexit vote). One can look at the bright side. If the downward trend continues (as in Brexit being finalized), it will make it more affordable for Britons to own homes in London.

Ministers have drawn up plans to send in the army to deliver food, medicines and fuel in the event of shortages if Britain crashes out of the EU without a deal. Blueprints for the armed forces to assist the civilian authorities, usually used only in civil emergencies, have been dusted down as part of the “no deal” planning.

The NHS would go on a year-round “winter crisis footing”, with drugs bought from outside the EU and stockpiled in hospitals.
