November 22. 2019

Antonella Barba

Former "American Idol" television show music contestant, Antonella Barba, has been sentenced to 4-years in prison, for drug dealing. In February 2019 she was arrested for selling cocaine, heroin and Fentanyl. In July 2019 she pled guilty to the charges.

This week in the Norfolk, Virginia district court, Barba was sentenced to 45-months in prison for her crimes. Barba blames her appearance on "American Idol" for her fall from grace. In the court case, Barba's lawyer stated in a legal brief, "One of the common themes is that the American Idol experience brought about a detrimental change in Ms. Barba's life" calling it "a recipe for disaster."

Many "American Idol" contestants have met with tragedy. A number of them have died in car accidents and due to other tragic events. Many contestants from the show are now drug addicts. Not to mention, the show's thieving star, Simon Cowell, is a alcoholic and cocaine user.
