Author Kevin Phillips Takes Credit For My Sites Financial Predictions

Oh No He Didn't!

April 13. 2009

Kevin Phillips

In 2006, in frequently copyrighted then published articles, I began warning of a financial crisis coming to America. Then in 2007, I did a series of articles on this website reiterating those claims:

How George Bush Destroyed The U.S. Economy - September 27, 2007

Foreboding Signs The Economy Is Going To Hit The Wall - June 21, 2007

Sound Off Column - November 2006

As many of you know, who haven't been living under a rock, America was hit with a terrible financial crisis two years later in 2008.

An author, Kevin Phillips, is going around stating on television and in print that he predicted the crisis via his 2008 book "Bad Money: Reckless Finance, Failed Politics, and the Global Crisis of American Capitalism."

Not only that, on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, on this website, I predicted "inflation" is coming to America, due to Obama's massive budget, that I think is going to fail to properly correct the crisis. My Tuesday, April 7, 2009 article is titled "Inflationary Spending."

ONE DAY LATER, on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, once again, that same author, Kevin Phillips, predicted the same to Reuters, that "inflation" is coming to America (see article below).

Even the wording he is using in all this, is similar to what's been on my sites since 2006. What a fraud! Does he think he is the only person that can see this website. Millions of people have been reading my articles, before he even wrote the book or made any of those claims.

My articles are copyrighted often as well and in a timely manner. I also email myself a copy of the day's website articles before I publish them, to create a time stamp to preserve authorship, down to the minute (under the Berne Convention), that cannot be disputed, as emails are routed in a specific manner, facing several time imprints along the way (header information).

Author who predicted crisis sees inflation ahead

Wed Apr 8, 2009 5:56pm EDT - NEW YORK (Reuters) - An author who saw the global financial crisis coming fears the next bubble will come in the form of inflation and has little confidence U.S. President Barack Obama's team is up to the challenge ahead.

"The Democrats have replaced the Republicans as the big benefactors to the financial community," said Kevin Phillips, author of "Bad Money: Reckless Finance, Failed Politics, and the Global Crisis of American Capitalism."

"The financial community is donating more to Democrats than ever before and you've got more Democrats in the financial community, creating a very powerful pattern there. I don't think you're going to see the Obama administration and Congress willing to be tough enough in dealing with these things," he told Reuters.

Phillips, a former strategist in the Nixon White House who has turned highly critical of the Republicans and voted for Obama in 2008, published "Bad Money," his 13th book, a year ago.

The paperback edition came out March 31 with a revised preface and afterward, interpreting the events of the past year, but the prescient body of "Bad Money" remains unchanged.

A year ago, he warned of a the pending explosion of a 25-year "multibubble" that started in the 1980s, when the financial sector accounted for 10 percent to 12 percent of the U.S. economy had started metastasizing into an "arguably crippling" 20 percent to 21 percent by the middle of this decade.

Overleveraging and easy credit was bound to create disaster, he warned.
