October 20. 2008

Barack Obama

Democrat Barack Obama has been endorsed by former U.S. Secretary of State, Colin Powell. Powell, who is an American born citizen of Jamaican descent, said having a black president, "Would be electrifying."

Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been badmouthing Powell over his choice of endorsing Obama, because Colin served in George W. Bush's cabinet, but when he realized how deceitful and corrupt he is, walked away from him. The two men are not on speaking terms anymore.

At the end of the day each person gets to vote how they chose. Everyone should respect that, even if they don't agree with it.

In response to the Powell endorsement, John McCain basically said so what, "I've been endorsed by four former Secretaries of State."

Am I the only one thinking of the facetious song "Anything you can do I can do better." Next they'll be competing to see who can bench-press the most.

Obama hints at top job for Colin Powell as he gets thumbs-up from the Republican

Barack Obama has hinted that Colin Powell could be in line for a top job in his government after the former Secretary of State gave him his backing.

Obama received the endorsement of Powell, a retired general who was chairman of the military's Joint Chiefs of Staff and served as secretary of state to President George W. Bush, while the Democrat candidate's campaign reported raking in a record-shattering $150 million in campaign donations last month.

The backing of Powell, a moderate Republican, was viewed as a blow to McCain's attempts to paint Obama as unready to serve as commander in chief of the U.S. military.
