Clinics Criminal Negligence Infects Patients

March 5. 2008

In a very sad story, a chain of Las Vegas clinics are in the news for their criminal negligence in reusing needles, which has led to the spread of Hepatitis and HIV in over 1,000 patients. As many as 40,000 patients visited the clinics and the full extent of the damage has not yet been ascertained. As a result, the health department has shut the chain of clinics down.

I am sure they were taught better medical standards than this. The staff members responsible should be brought up on charges and given jail sentences.

They have thoughtlessly jeopardized the lives of many people via reusing needles/syringes to save a little money, rather than disposing them after use. A person's health is priceless.

This is inexcusable and a betrayal of public trust. They wouldn't want the kind of medical care they dispensed to the public. Those poor patients must be devastated. (news report link)
