Criminal Charges Are Not Off The Table In The Alec Baldwin  Movie Set Shooting Death Of Cinematographer

October 28. 2021

The District Attorney's office in New Mexico has publicly stated criminal charges are on the table in the shooting death of 42-year-old cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, and the wounding of director, Joel Souza, 48. The tragic incident occurred on the set of the film "Rust." There are three people being investigated in this matter and they are actor Alec Baldwin, assistant director David Halls and armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed.

Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza stated, "Obviously I think the industry has had a record recently of being safe. I think there was some complacency on this set, and I think there are some safety issues that need to be addressed by the industry and possibly by the state of New Mexico,"

Halyna Hutchins

Hollywood has a detailed history of unsafe film sets, but they routinely escape culpability for reasons that come across as corrupt. For example, the shooting death of actor Brandon Bruce Lee, son of the legendary martial artist, Bruce Lee. Brandon was killed on the set of the film "The Crow" when someone loaded a prop gun with real bullets.

History has repeated itself in the shooting death of Hutchins on the set of Baldwin's "Rust." I do believe it was an accident on Baldwin's part, and he is going to need therapy after experiencing something like that. However, as stated on this site days ago, "Rust" is his Baldwin's movie production. Therefore he is responsible. In my humble estimation Dave Halls and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed are most responsible.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed

Under the law, Baldwin can be charged with manslaughter or negligent manslaughter, if the district attorney chooses. Baldwin did not meant to shoot or kill Hutchins, but there are similar cases where the government proceeds with charges.

There is something else I do not like about the case (not just the negligence and preventable death). Before police arrived satanist and drug user, Gutierrez-Reed, removed the remaining bullets from the gun that killed Hutchins. That looks very suspect and like obstruction of justice. I don't think she's innocent in all of this. She still won't explain why there were 500 other real bullets on the set of the film, which police were able to seize. Why bring real bullets to a move set. What kind of madness is that.

Criminal charges 'on the table' in deadly 'Rust' movie-set shooting involving Alec Baldwin: DA

Wednesday, October 27, 2021 1:18PM - SANTA FE, N.M. -- Investigators said Wednesday that there was "some complacency" in how weapons were handled on a movie set where Alec Baldwin accidentally shot and killed a cinematographer and wounded another person, but it's too soon to determine whether charges will be filed.

Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza also noted that 500 rounds of ammunition - a mix of blanks, dummy rounds and live rounds - were found while searching the set of the Western "Rust." US issues first passport with 'X' gender marker for those who don't identify as male or female

"Obviously I think the industry has had a record recently of being safe. I think there was some complacency on this set, and I think there are some safety issues that need to be addressed by the industry and possibly by the state of New Mexico," Mendoza told a news conference nearly a week after the shooting happened during rehearsal, killing cinematographer 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza...
