Dead Body Found At House Of American Idol Judge

Former American Idol Contestant Found Dead Outside Paula Abdul's House

November 12. 2008

Paula Abdul

A former American Idol contestant from 2006, Paula Goodspeed, was found dead in her car, reportedly of a drug overdose, outside the home of one of the show’s troubled judges Paula Abdul. Goodspeed, who hails from a suburb north of Los Angeles, was reportedly obsessed with Paula Abdul.

Paula Goodspeed

It is the second tragedy to hit an America Idol contestant in the past few weeks. Two weeks ago, the family of contestant Jennifer Hudson was brutally shot to death in Chicago. My condolences to all involved. As I stated a few years ago in the Sound Off Column, I do not agree with the idea of creating an idol, as it is something God disapproves of in the Bible, labeling it an offense to Him. Not to mention, the thought of a contrived career for a prefabricated artist is very fake.

Paula Goodspeed

So many artists from the show have already lost their record and management deals. The byproducts of the show are short-lived and forgettable. Contestants on American Idol are degraded and abused for public amusement and there is nothing funny or remotely humane about that. One of the show’s judges, Simon Cowell, mocked Goodspeed’s braces stating he did not know anyone could sing with that much metal in their mouth.

Paula Abdul's house

Yes Simon, one can sing with braces. It’s only vain, superficial, shallow, vapid record executives looking for terrific looks instead of talent as their criteria, subscribe to the philosophy that sex sells and true singing ability doesn’t. If Aretha Franklin or Barbara Streisand decided to install braces in their mouths, would you dare go up to them and ask them such a stupid, unscientific question.

Jennifer Hudson

I have to ask, what did she really die for. A randy cheerleader, who slept with a married singer, Jermaine Jackson, in a bid to get a record deal, that she lip-synced her way through, then made a comeback a decade later on a TV talent show, stolen from a Texas man, with additional pilfering of preexisting, soulful copyrighted music stolen from a black immigrant, that was unlawfully turned into cruddy Karaoke music.

No stupid show is worth dying over. It’ll be off the air and in the annals of TV and music history in the not too distant future. If you get mocked on the show just remember, Paula Abdul can't sing and Simon Cowell doesn't know music, isn't a real musicologist, having made his name 10 years ago as an A&R guy peddling cheesy, teeny bop, pop music that didn't stand the test of time.
