Drudge Report Sued For Copyright Infringement

The Drudge Report has inauspiciously been sued for copyright infringement, due to a photo posted and linked to on the site, illustrating stringent airport security measures in America. The photo is owned by the Denver Post and was bought by a third party, who is sue happy and looking for quick profits.

However, under the U.S. Copyright Act, one is allowed to excerpt public copyrighted materials in covering a breaking news event of interest to the public. Therefore, in this instance, Drudge is in compliance with the law.
