Elizabeth Holmes Tried To Flee To Mexico After Being Convicted Of Fraud In The Theranos Blood Testing Criminal Case

January 26. 2023

Elizabeth Holmes was trying to make a run for it

A recent press report reveals scammer Elizabeth Holmes tried to flee to Mexico after being convicted of fraud. Holmes bought a one way ticket to Mexico. Holmes now claims she was going on vacation, but why would she buy a one way ticket when  she was due to be sentenced to prison, after being convicted.

Holmes ran a massive scam regarding a fraudulent, non-existent blood testing machine she claims to have invented. The invention was just a plastic shell of a device that did not work. It never did, yet she lied to many investors and took their money

Holmes has since been sentenced to 11-years in prison. In my opinion, the sentence is too lenient. A man died over her criminal misconduct, when she was being demanding and abusive to him, in perpetrating fraud against investors, who also lost their money.

Holmes was living lavishly and making foolish business decisions, as she did not know what she was doing, and these actions wasted much of the investors' money. What a waste. That money could have went to the poor or a real start-up that was actually doing something productive with real projected earnings.

Elizabeth Holmes Sentenced to Over 11 Years in Prison

Updated Jan. 24, 2023 - Elizabeth Holmes, self-styled “best businessperson of the year” and owner of one of the world’s largest black-turtleneck collections, is now facing prison time for defrauding investors. In January 2022, a jury in San Jose, California, returned its verdict: guilty on four counts of fraud. On November 18, a judge sentenced her to 11.25 years in prison — rejecting the pregnant Theranos founder’s plea for home confinement and a maximum of 18 months behind bars.

In December, Holmes appealed her conviction and argued that she should be allowed to be free because there is no risk she will flee and because she intends to raise “substantial issues” that could warrant a new trial. Prosecutors argue she has not proved she is not a flight risk, per the Washington Post.

Feds to Elizabeth Holmes: What about that one-way ticket to Mexico?

PUBLISHED: January 25, 2023 at 3:57 p.m. | UPDATED: January 26, 2023 at 2:45 p.m. -Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, defending herself against prosecutors’ claim that she tried to flee the U.S. after her 2022 fraud conviction, failed to explain her one-way ticket to Mexico, the prosecution said in a court filing Wednesday.

Prosecutors alleged in a court filing last week that Holmes, convicted in early January 2022 and facing years in prison, had a Mexico flight booked for later in the month in an “attempt to flee” the country.
