Explosion In Lebanon Kills Over 135 People And Injures 5,000 (Video)

An explosion rocked Beirut, Lebanon yesterday and was felt as far as Cyprus. Video emerged and began trending on social networking of the massive explosion. Some attributed it to a missile, while others stated it looked like a bomb had exploded.

Reports coming out of Lebanon state over 135 people died in the blast and 5,000 are injured. Search and rescue operations continue in Beirut with the hope of finding survivors. Videos and photos of the city reveal extensive structural damage. It is vital authorities check for structural damage in the actual area and for miles around to prevent further injury or loss of life. My condolences to the people of Lebanon.

August 5, 20204:01 PM ET - The detonation of more than 2,000 tons of explosive material at the Beirut port has damaged as much as half of Lebanon's capital. At least 130 people have been confirmed dead, and 4,000 injured.

The frantic search for survivors continues after yesterday's catastrophic explosion in Beirut. At least 130 people have been confirmed dead, and 4,000 were injured. As much as half of Lebanon's capital was badly damaged - collapsed walls, shattered glass - and so far, as signs point to a tragic, possibly careless accident that caused the detonation of more than 2,000 tons of explosive material in a warehouse near the port. Journalist Nada Homsi joins us now from Beirut.
