Fight Rigging Is The Equivalent Of Making A Fool Of The Fans

March 22. 2018

Currently there is a sports company engaging in fight rigging in a massive manner. The man who runs the company realized his main athlete did not have the training or ability required to win on his own as the fights became more challenging and roped him into rigging fights with opponents that were paid off and in some cases threatened.

Thus far, they have rigged three major events (and counting) which dishonestly gave the promoter and his athlete championship belts/titles. These belts are so coveted and have meant so much over the decades to true champions who earned them. Therefore, it is so dishonest and disgraceful that someone who did not earn them now has possession of said belts through fight rigging. They have tainted sports history with this criminal conduct.

The company also foolishly got involved with a group of people involved in organized crime and racketeering. The whole spectacle is making a fool of the fans, who pay money to buy tickets, merchandise and pay-per-view, only to end up watching rigged fights. The entire charade is taking advantage of good natured fans, who really deserve better.

The company in question and athlete involved is playing with fire, as the law of their nation brands such conduct criminal fraud. The long arm of the law is going to get them regarding what they have been doing and it will not be worth what they have gained through criminal behavior in rigging fights. Under the law, such fraud can result in imprisonment, asset seizures and fines, not to mention lasting shame from public disgrace.

I don't know why people choose to do such things. It is better to lose honorably, than win dishonorably. It is better to have a good name, as opposed to one mired in disgrace because you decided to cheat and rig fights. People need to think of their families before they do such things, as it brings disgrace on them as well when you get into trouble and end up under indictment. However, this is the problem. Some people love money and are willing to do anything for it, which proves their undoing.

If you are a athlete in the sports industry, stay on the straight and narrow. Keep your integrity. Do not take steroids or cash for engaging in fight rigging. Do things the honest way, as the truth always comes out. To gain temporary fame and money, then incur lasting shame and financial loss is not worth it.
