Hospitalization For Butt Injuries

November 27. 2010

Light bulb in the rectum went too far, literally and figuratively

Deadspin found an article on the Sun Sentinel website in South Florida, regarding local causes of hospitalization. Deadpsin, owned by Gawker, being the high brow website it is, skimmed over all the serious and terrible traumas, to fish out the embarrassing ones  - butt injuries. It seems some in South Florida are busy sticking things up their butts...that get stuck, forcing an emergency trip to the hospital.

While the Judiciary Report would never poke fun at another person's injuries (suppressing laughter) the one that had me in hysterics, is the lady admitted to the hospital for sticking a wine bottle up her butt and the cork breaking off. She was unable to evacuate it.

I guess she couldn't poo the cork out, because it might turn sideways and get stuck trying to make a rear exit (suppressing laughter). I don't know, maybe she was trying to invent a new way to open wine bottles and it just didn't pan out...ironically, neither did the cork...without surgery.

Some have been to the emergency rooms with difficult injuries they were distressed to verbalize. But imagine having to go into the hospital and say, "I broke a wine bottle cork off in my butt." Can you imagine explaining that one to the insurance company. In all seriousness, I hope the lady is okay.
