Iranian Woman Tortured Into Confessing On TV

Yesterday evening it was announced, Iranian prisoner, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, was tortured in prison and publicly forced to confess to crimes she previously stated she did not commit, murder and adultery. The confession appeared on television in Iran and her lawyer, Mohammad Mostafaei, stated she had been brutally beaten and forced to lie on television.

The Iranian government is angry at world attention Ashtianti's case has received, as many all over the globe, believe she is being set up and falsely accused of crimes she did not commit. Her children are distraught and fear she maybe executed in secret at any moment. Brazil has kindly offered her asylum, but the Iranian government has yet to accept their offer.
