Is Being An Instagram Model Really The Same As Being A Model

Many people on Instagram have referred to themselves as models or Instagram models, but is it the same as traditionally modeling. Truthfully, it is not the same thing. Models who are discovered the old fashioned way go through a great deal more. Traditional models are also in better shape, have blemish free skin, an absence of cellulite and look more polished. They know how to pose properly, with the camera catching their best angles. Clothing also looks more fitted and professional on traditional models.

To the models that start from scratch, joining agencies and struggling to get work until they make it, it is a big insult for Instagram models to use the term model. They do not like it. They are of the view it trivializes what they do as professional models. Instagram models profiles are often confined to social networking. However, traditional models have print ads, commercials and walk the runway at fashion shows. Give credit where credit is due.

That does not mean you can't do well using Instagram as a platform to earn money as an Istagram model. If you build up a big enough follower count, you can charge decent sums of money for advertising. A handful of women and men have also been discovered on Instagram and were signed by modeling agencies.
