27-year-old criminal, Sean Greer, ran over six children (ages 1 to 6), killing two on the spot in Wilton Manors, Florida. The children were on the sidewalk with an adult, after disembarking a Broward County Transit bus, when impatient, speeding Greer refused to wait for the vehicle to move forward. Greer did not have the right of way.

Greer decided to speed around the bus of passengers and in doing so lost control of his vehicle, slamming into the children. After mowing down the children like bowling pins, Greer exited his vehicle, looked at them for seconds, then hopped back in his car and sped away. Greer did not call for help, opting to break the law in a hit and run.

He hit the children with such force their shoes flew off. One child was pinned under the wheel of a vehicle. Two are currently in critical condition. One of the children is in a coma. Only one child has been released from the hospital. The two children that passed away are 5-year-old Kylie Jones and 6-year-old Andréa Fleming. My condolences to their families.

As it turns out Greer was on probation for burglary. He also had no driver's license when he committed vehicular homicide in killing the children. During his first court appearance a belligerent Greer fought deputies on camera.

Local 10 News reported that Greer is currently charged with, "Two counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving death., two counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries, tampering with evidence, four counts of driving without a license causing death and/or serious bodily injuries, and driving with a suspended license."

Residents complained about the speeding on N.W. 9th Avenue in Wilton Manors (Broward) where the children were struck and killed. In neighboring Miami, another such road is 441. I once witnessed as a helicopter landed on 441 to airlift a man to the hospital, who was sitting at a bus stop minding his business, when a van jumped onto the curb and landed on him. Just a few feet away in a previous incident, another pedestrian had been killed. A few blocks down the road in another incident two people waiting at a bus stop were killed by a speeding car. I've seen people drag race on 441, even revving their engines.

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Detectives arrested a man on Tuesday who is accused of plowing into a group of children on Monday in Wilton Manors, killing two children and injuring four. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies identified the man who was driving a 2009 Honda Accord sedan as Sean Charles Greer, 27. The two children who died were identified as 5-year-old Kylie Jones and 6-year-old Andrea Fleming.

Deputies said there were also four children injured: Two 9-year-old girls, a 2-year-old boy, and a 10-year-old boy. Witnesses said Greer was driving southbound on Northwest Ninth Avenue, between Northwest 24th and 26th streets, shortly after 2:45 p.m. Monday...
