Mariah Carey's Las Vegas Residency Bombing Again

June 4. 2018

Mariah Carey

Tickets to Mariah Carey's upcoming 3-month Las Vegas residency are not selling well...once again. I have discussed this top in past articles, stating a residency for Carey is a bad idea, as she repeatedly has vocal problems, is often tardy for shows and has no current hits. However, she is determined to get out there...and suffer more problems.

The second leg of Carey's failed residency is called "The Butterfly Returns." However, she is hardly receiving a good welcome back. Page Six is reporting Carey has not even sold out Caesars and it only has 4,300 seats. If she had a hit song and successful album out, sales would be brisk. I have stated repeatedly on this site that Carey needs to take time off, seek assistance for mental illness, get the best team together she can find for her music career, record proper hit songs again and improve her look.

Thus far, Carey has been seeing a psychiatrist, who has placed her on medication. She has also greatly improved her appearance by losing weight and wearing more flattering clothes. However, as stated in past articles, touring with no current hits out is dangerous for any artist unless you are a recording act like the Rolling Stones or Tina Turner, to name a few (and believe me, there's only a handful of legends that can pull that off). It is not good for Carey's mental health to keep experiencing these career setback, as she has Bipolar Disorder and is fragile.

The problem is Carey has tried to kill herself before when her career took a massive fall nearly 20-years ago. She spent months in a mental facility. If these career setbacks keep happening I am of the belief she will kill herself, which is not the answer to her problems. That would be a tragic end to her story, which does not have to happen. One's career is not worth one's life. Another issue is Carey only identifies herself by her career. She needs to realize there is life beyond music.

Sales for Mariah Carey’s Vegas shows are ‘a disaster’

June 3, 2018 | 9:34a - Mariah Carey might want to sell some more jewelry if fans don’t start buying tickets to her “Butterfly Returns” shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Seats are still available for the July 5 opening night of her three-month residency. “It’s a disaster,” one insider told me. “Scalpers bought a bunch of the tix and are freaking out.”

Carey fired her fiercely protective manager Stella Bulochnikov in November and hasn’t performed since Christmas. Bulochnikov was going to book her at a smaller venue in Vegas “so they could keep announcing sold-out shows,” my source said. “Instead, they put her back in Caesars with 4,300 seats.”...
