Obama Wins NC, Clinton Leading In Indiana

May 6. 2008

In the Democratic race for the nomination, Barack Obama has won the state of North Carolina by an overwhelming margin and Hilary Clinton is leading in Indiana in a close call.

Obama has expanded his substantial overall lead, while Clinton faced the grim reality that she did not clinch the two must win states for her. She is prolonging the inevitable.

The numbers are not pretty for Hillary, as North Carolina has more delegates than Indiana, and thus far this week, he's won more of the popular vote as well.
