President Obama Booed In Miami After Making A Chicago Bulls Comment

March 29. 2013

U.S. President Barack Obama made a stop in Miami, Florida today and during a televised speech, brought up his favorite NBA basketball team, the Chicago Bulls, who recently beat the Miami Heat in a questionable victory. Obama stated, "I’ve got to get into a sticky subject right off the bat, I know you guys aren’t happy with my Chicago Bulls (booing erupts)...But I just want you to know that the Heat are going to be just fine. They’re going to be O.K. They are playing basketball the right way."

I don't know who told him to say that (LOL). Immediately everyone started to boo the president. It's not that Miami fans are angry the Heat lost the game, thus ending their great 27 game winning streak. Heat fans would have preferred the loss, if it had to come, happen fairly. The loss arrived at the hands of referees making brazenly bad calls in allowing the opposing team to physically tackle and hit the Heat, which is impermissible court conduct, in repeatedly wrenching the ball from them with no penalty. The Heat lost so many points in this manner and it was out of their control.

If the Heat broke the rules like the Bulls did this week, they would have won, albeit the wrong way. There's nothing wrong with aggressive play, but seeing people physically tackled to the floor NFL style, on a basketball court without penalty was disconcerting. My favorite Twitter comment about the game stated, "The refs ended the Miami Heat's winning streak." Indeed.
