YNW Melly's mug shot

19-year-old rapper YNW Melly, real name Jamell Maurice Demons, is facing the death penalty in the State of Florida, in connection with a double murder he is accused of committing. He was arrested on February 13, 2019, regarding the October 2018 shooting deaths of two of his friends.

Melly is accused of murdering aspiring rapper Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams and Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas. Melly staged the murders with a friend, Cortlen “YNW Bortlen” Henry, to give the appearance the men were shot in a drive by shooting. Henry drove the victims to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Melly has previous arrests for assault, battery, illegal weapons possession and marijuana, which also occurred in the State of FLorida. Melly and Henry are also the main suspects in the 2017 murder of sheriff’s deputy, Gary Chambliss, in a slaying that occurred in Florida. They have not been arrested for the crime at this time.

It’s amazing how rappers get sidetracked. Their job is supposed to be making music. Yet murder and assault end up in the picture with some rappers. To receive the opportunity to make music and earn more than most in the process, then ruin it via violence is tragic. Stay away from violence.
