Rolling Stone Magazine Co-Founder Jann Wenner Is A Racist And Sexist Who Slammed Black People And Women As Inarticulate

September 19. 2023

Jann Wenner

Racist and sexist Rolling Stone magazine co-founder, Jann Wenner, recently showed his true colors in vile statements he made about black people and women. Wenner stated to the New York Times that his new book did not contain any interviews with black people or women, as we are not articulate.

Wenner, thinks he is the authority on music when he has no musical talent or formal understanding thereof. As a black woman who has written and copyrighted more songs than any individual, and one who has a 5-octave voice, is multi-instrumentalist and has a 160 IQ, I think Wenner is full of it.

I know music. I would run circles around Wenner in discussing and analyzing every genre and artist. Therefore, I can state with authority there are many black people and women who are musically gifted and articulate. Wenner is foul and out of order to have made such nasty, racist and sexist statements. However, it shows you who he truly is as a person.

Wenner co-founded the aforementioned magazine as well as the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame. For years I have tweeted at their page on Twitter, now known as X, as I found they had admitted numerous people of many races, backgrounds and nationalities. I never viewed them as racist. Not for one minute. I saw the whole thing as fun. Only for it to come out now in the mainstream that there has been a conflict in the background with Wenner repeatedly snubbing and fighting against the induction of black people and women. This is disgraceful of Wenner. The Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame committee has announced Wenner has been removed from the organization.

One of the top musicians in history is African-American Sam Cooke. He was a smart, articulate black man who wrote intelligent songs. Cooke's intellect was present in his lyrics and interviews. Yet Wenner, who is not a singer, songwriter, producer or musicologist, and couldn't hold a candle to Cooke, is of the belief he isn't articulate or worthy as a black man. How do you figure that. This is pure arrogance and racism. As time progresses people will continue to remember Sam Cooke. When the name Jann Wenner is brought up the overwhelming majority of the global population will go "who?"

Honestly, when I heard the name Jann, I remembered him vaguely but couldn't place it (which says a lot considering how much I know about music), but I was more thinking Jan Hammer who made that awesome "Miami Vice" soundtrack (LOL). Only to find out it is Jann Wenner, the co-founder of Rolling Stone, to which I shrugged, because really, who cares about his opinion on music. However, I took the opportunity to write about Wenner's behavior because it illustrates the horrible mindset of many in Hollywood. They pretend to be tolerant and liberal, but they are as racist and sexist as one can get.

There are other legendary black artists who have passed away that were talented and articulate, such as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Teddy Pendergrass, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gay, Prince and Luther Vandross, among others. It was great to listen to them speak about current events and pop culture. I still play some of their interviews back.

I remember Luther Vandross was on television showing his new home in New Jersey after a California earthquake made him flee Los Angeles. Luther's dining room had cashmere walls in a lovely neutral tone. Luther was just as refined as you'd want to be. He spoke eloquently in his interviews about music and current events. Vandross was so musically brilliant that other artists, such as the legend Davie Bowie, deferred to him in the studio, even when he was doing background vocals in the early stages of his career. He was a man that truly understood the music...and better than Wenner ever will.

Living legends such as Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Otis Blackwell, Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson, among many others, have for decades illustrated they are intelligent African-Americans who know music and in ways Wenner never will. He has no musical ability and is a critic. Wenner is not even on Clive Davis' level, where a non-performer and non-writer has a great ear for music. I don't agree with Clive on many things in the industry, but give credit where credit is due, the man knows music.

There are many articulate women who have been snubbed via Wenner's comments. As stated above there is Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight and Chaka Khan. In addition to the aforementioned, there is Barbra Streisand, Joni Mitchell, Annie Lennox, Cher, Stevie Nicks, Carole King, Carole Bayer Sager, Gloria Estefan, Sheryl Crow and Shakira, among others.

For years I have repeatedly posted my suggestions for the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, as do many other people on Twitter. A few of my suggested musicians have been inducted. I had suggested Jimmy Buffett in 2019, but he passed away this month before this could happen.

I've repeatedly stated on this site that Hollywood is a cesspit of thievery, racism, sexism, rape and pedophilia. I've also stated in past articles that Jewish people in Hollywood, such as Wenner, have been treating black people very badly for decades (The Brutal Murder Of Singer Sam Cooke Highlights The Significant Problems Between The Black And Jewish Communities In Hollywood (Video) and The Anti-Defamation League Responds To Comments Rapper Kanye West Made About The Jewish Ownership Of Hollywood And The Entertainment Industry's Terrible Slavetrader Treatment Of Black People). Wenner actively fought against black people's progress in entertainment. That is despicable.

Many Jewish people in Hollywood have exhibited a terrible racism and hatred towards black people, which has manifested in hateful and oppressive conduct, which includes racial slurs, theft of intellectual property and royalties, sexual assault, rape and in some cases commissioned murder.

However, if you publicly say anything about what is going on, some in Hollywood will smear you as anti-Semitic for being a victim of crime, who speaks out about the abusive and dangerous conduct transpiring against you. That is reverse psychology and it is being used in a sick manner against people who have been horribly abused.

Some Jewish people in Hollywood (and I can name hundreds and detail their criminal behavior) seem to forget the horrible human rights abuses their ancestors went through at Hitler's hands, and inexplicably now have no qualms about unleashing dreadful abuse on other minorities in the industry. Many Jewish people in Hollywood are making racist slurs and engaging in criminal behavior against black people, openly showing how much they hate us everyday. it is bewildering. We've done nothing to you. This is all unprovoked and very hateful.

I'm not an anti-Semite nor am I against Israel (or Palestine for that matter, as I want everyone to prosper). However, I will not keep silent about the abuses against us as black people. I don't believe anyone should be abused. I love all the races and ethnic backgrounds. This is why I can't understand the type of awful behavior coming out of Hollywood. You, as an industry, need to take a look in the mirror at yourselves regarding your sick behavior and stop it.

Jann Wenner Apologizes for Saying Black and Female Musicians Aren’t “Articulate” Enough for His New Book

September 16, 2023 3:39pm - The apology comes a few hours after the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation removed the Rolling Stone co-founder from its board over the comments he made while promoting his new book. Rolling Stone co-founder Jann Wenner has issued an apology following controversial comments he made about Black and female musicians being not “articulate” enough to be included in his new book.

The apology came Saturday night, a few hours after the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced he was being removed from his position on the board of directors. In an interview with The New York Times — which was published online Friday, to promote his new book, The Masters — Wenner said he didn’t include interviews with Black and female musicians in his book because they aren’t “articulate” enough. On Saturday, he said he apologized “wholeheartedly” for his comments.

“In my interview with The New York Times, I made comments that diminished the contributions, genius, and impact of Black and women artists and I apologize wholeheartedly for those remarks,” he said in a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter. “The Masters is a collection of interviews I’ve done over the years that seemed to me to best represent an idea of rock ‘n’ roll’s impact on my world; they were not meant to represent the whole of music and it’s diverse and important originators but to reflect the high points of my career and interviews I felt illustrated the breadth and experience in that career. They don’t reflect my appreciation and admiration for myriad totemic, world-changing artists whose music and ideas I revere and will celebrate and promote as long as I live. I totally understand the inflammatory nature of badly chosen words and deeply apologize and accept the consequences.”...
