Should Bidding Be Mandatory For Government Contracts

May 26. 2010

U.S. President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder

In light of the fact President Barack Obama has broken a serious campaign promise twice already in one year, regarding not issuing no-bid government contracts, should bidding be mandatory to obtain such lucrative deals, many of which are worth millions, sometimes billions.

The taxpayers do not get the best value for their money when Presidents issue lucrative bids to campaign donors, as Mr. Obama has been doing, deceitfully and quietly, reneging on his promise, thus breaking his word. As such, should such conduct be made unlawful.

It's a pretty unsettling thought that all one has to do to control Obama is donate to his campaign.
