People on social networking are slamming
31-year-old rapper Drake for texting 14-year-old actress
Millie Bobby Brown. People do not think it appropriate that
a grown man is constantly exchanging text messages with an
underage girl and social networking is full of comments to
that effect.
The controversy began when the enthusiastic
Brown stated of Drake in an interview, “I love him. He is a
great friend and a great role model. We just texted each
other the other day and he was like ’I miss you so much’ and
I was like ’I miss you more.’ He’s great.” She also stated
they talk "about boys" and "he helps me.” It sounds like she has a
crush on him and is hoping they will date.
Some online are uncomfortable with the idea
of a grown man texting an underage girl half his age, and
about boys. Drake is in dangerous territory many deem
socially unacceptable. It really doesn’t look right. If you
had a 14-year-old daughter would you want her exchanging
private texts with a 31-year-old man, who is not a relative
and for them to be texting each other on the subject of the
opposite sex.
