Stalker Brutally Kills Teenage Victim

April 13. 2021

Shana Grice

19-year-old stalking victim, Shana Grice, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend, Michael Lane, who was 27 at the time. She reported him to police five times in six months, but after cautioning him once, they issued a £90 fine to Grice for "wasting police time."

The London Mirror reported, "In March that year she was fined £90 by Sussex Police for wasting their time because she did not tell officers they had been in a relationship after she reported Lane for pulling her hair and grabbing her phone."

One night Lane broke into Grice's house and attacked her in bed. He slit her throat and lit the bed on fire, enraged that she began dating someone else. Lane was apprehended by police, tried, convicted and sentenced to a minimum of 25-years in prison.

I've covered many stalking stories on this site that occurred all over the world. They all have a common thread. Stalkers are criminally insane psychopaths who will not stop until they are stopped. They cannot be reasoned with, as they are among the most insane and impetuous of criminals.

Stalking is highly irrational behavior. The mere fact a person would do this says they need to be in custody. Legislation needs to be changed worldwide regarding stalkers. Once the victim makes the complaint, police should have the authority to immediately detain the stalker until trial, to save lives.

Many stalkers have murdered their victims once police informed them a complaint was made and they need to desist the misconduct (a police caution). Many stalkers have also murdered victims who filed restraining orders against them. Detaining stalkers from the outset would save lives, as it is an egregious crime where the perpetrators are insane and erratic. You can't expect rational thought from people exhibiting such behavior. You can expect madness and mayhem.

Teenager was fined for reporting stalker to police five times before he murdered her

22:31, 22 MAR 2021Updated09:07, 23 MAR 2021 - A teenager was murdered by her stalker after she reported him to the police five times in a tragic case described as 'avoidable'. Instead of helping 19-year-old Shana Grice, Sussex Police fined her £90 for ‘wasting police time’ on one occasion.

Shana, a receptionist from Brighton, had begged police to take action against Michael Lane five times over a period of six months in 2016. But her pleas were ignored, despite him breaking into her home, and he went on to slit her throat before trying to burn her body in August 2016.

In March that year she was fined £90 by Sussex Police for wasting their time because she did not tell officers they had been in a relationship after she reported Lane for pulling her hair and grabbing her phone. Six weeks later he broke into her home again, walked into her bedroom and murdered her after learning she was in a new relationship. In March 2017, Lane, then 27, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 25 years Shana's murder...
