Stimulus Goes Silly

The U.S. Congress wants to spend $300 million in taxpayer stimulus money on electric golf carts and green cars. The golf carts are lofty and wasteful (among other items in the stimulus). There seems to be a lot of that going around. Once again, how does all this debt qualify as job creation. How is it a priority. It does not display any prudence.

The federal government is preparing to spend millions to purchase a fleet of small electric vehicles that critics compare to golf carts.

The $838 billion economic stimulus bill that passed the Senate yesterday contains $300 million for the government to purchase a fleet of "green" cars.
